Here are some highlights of the accomplishments our Firm and attorneys have made this year.

Many of you joined us this year in celebrating our Firm’s name change to Batley Family Law, P.A.  We welcome the promotion of Randy W. Powers, Jr. as partner, joining owner Bobbie Batley in continuing to provide exceptional legal services in all matters of family law.

We were honored to be selected a 2020 Best Law Firm by Best Lawyers ®.  Bobbie Batley was also selected 2020 Lawyer of the Year in Collaborative Family Law.  This is the third time within the past 10 years that she has been selected as a Lawyer of the Year.  We appreciate Best Lawyers and the peer review process which bestowed this national recognition on us.

BOBBIE, SANDI and JAN were all selected again as Super Lawyers, an award that recognizes no more than 5% of attorneys in each state.  RANDY was again selected as a Super Lawyer Rising Star, which recognizes no more than 2.5% of attorneys in each state.  The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.

BOBBIE BATLEY was admitted as a Diplomate to the prestigious American College of Family Trial Lawyers, an organization of the top 100 family law lawyers in the country.  Bobbie was also admitted as a Fellow to the International Academy of Family Law.  Bobbie’s youngest daughter started 2^nd grade and is in a dual language school, while her older daughter will be graduating in December from Trinity University in San Antonio and hoping to attend law school.  Her husband, Billy, enjoys running his own car sales business and hunting as much as he can.

RANDY POWERS was selected to the Leadership New Mexico Connect Program for 2019-2020.  This program enables participants to network together to explore the critical issues facing our state and develop possible solutions.  A frequent blogger on the Firm’s website, Randy regularly shares his expertise and experience gained from his active family law practice. Randy continues to serve the Court and families as a Guardian ad Litem for children, and enjoys the unique challenge of representing children. In his free time, Randy enjoyed participating in the 2019 World Series of Poker, and completing various DIY projects around the house.

LAUREN RILEY has developed her practice significantly this year, successfully representing clients through diverse family law matters both in court and at settlement.  As member of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the State Bar, Lauren is mentoring two, first-year law school students and is also the YLD liaison to the State Bar Family Law Section.  Lauren and her husband, Rustin, welcomed baby Beau into their family this March and are enjoying all the joys of parenthood.

SANDI LITTLE and her husband, Gordon, moved to Colorado this year but she remains Of Counsel with the Firm and very active in her professional practice. We are thankful for the advancement of technology allowing Sandi to work remotely while enjoying her new location.  She and Gordon enjoy travelling and remodeling their new home together.

JAN GILMAN-TEPPER continues to support us and serve as Of Counsel to the Firm.  Jan’s gifts of teaching and mentoring young lawyers is still being put to work with the NM State Bar Incubator Program and she has worked on the New Mexico Bar Specialization Program.  Much of her personal time is spent volunteering with Oasis-APS tutor program, golfing, travelling and enjoying time with her children and granddaughter. 

OUR TEAM of paralegals and support staff continue to amaze us by their dedication to our clients and to making our office run smoothly.  We could not do what we do without Andree Peek, Lucy Contreras, Lorrie Kehl-Paul, Kelsy Montoya, Laurie Herrera, Bridget Hazen and Chelsea Garnenez. We cannot thank them enough for all their hard work and contributions to our team.
