Family Law Attorney

Jonathan S. Brown

“Growing up in a very small town, I saw firsthand how having a good advocate on your side can make a world of difference for people and the futures they get to live. It’s very rewarding to help people get through this part of their lives to start a new chapter and begin again.”

Helping Families Find Their Own Solutions

Attorney Jonathan S. Brown wants to keep his clients in charge of their own futures. Although he has experience handling divorce and family law matters through traditional litigation, he strives to help clients resolve their conflicts out of court through non-adversarial means whenever possible, so the final decisions rest with them rather than a judge.

Jonathan trained extensively in mediation techniques, including both classic and family-focused mediation and mediation conducted remotely through video platforms as well as traditional in-person settings. He is focused on protecting families and their relationships, particularly families with young children. His unparalleled commitment to service enables him to foster cooperation between spouses who do not see eye to eye so that they can work together to find the best solutions for the family.

Born in Silver City, New Mexico, Jonathan spent much of childhood in the small mining town of Morenci, Arizona. Seeing the difference the right legal representation could make in people’s lives, he always knew he wanted to be a lawyer. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Law. While working for a defense firm in Phoenix, he mentored young Latinx students in the community to keep them on the path to graduation.

He moved back to New Mexico to attend the University of New Mexico School of Law and immediately focused his attention on family law as a way to make an immediate positive impact on the lives of others. Having lived and worked in a variety of settings, he understands the challenges faced by clients from all backgrounds. His goal is always to help clients achieve their goals in a way that preserves relationships, dignity, and trust.

Jonathan is an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, State Bar of New Mexico Family Section, Albuquerque Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
