Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. In honoring the brave individuals who are breaking the cycle of abuse, Little, Gilman-Tepper & Batley is partnering with Jenell Pagan, an independent Mary Kay Representative, in sponsoring Halloween pumpkins to be delivered to victims living in local safe houses. These pumpkins are filled with Mary Kay products good for pampering the body and spirit.
The hard truth about domestic violence is that every 9 seconds a woman is beaten in the U.S.
One in three women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. The same is true for one in four men. Almost half of all men and women will experienced at least one form of emotional abuse by an intimate partner during their lifetime. An estimated 3.3 million children in the U.S. witness violence against their mother or female caretaker by a family member each year.
Every 9 seconds. 1 in 3 women. 1 in 4 men. 3.3 million children. These are sobering facts but help is available.
